Disclosures

Precision Tube Journal publishes original reporting, research, and technical tools, and it states how every claim was verified. Here is who we are connected to, and what we do about it.

Tightsteel. Tightsteel is a digital warehouse for steel tube, related to PTJ: it pools buyer demand into mill runs produced on committed campaign capacity at partner mills. When PTJ content links to Tightsteel — "see what's on order," "send a requirement" — that is a referral to a related business, and the link says so where it appears. Nothing Tightsteel shows is stock on a shelf; runs are planned mill production, and Tightsteel discloses the producing mill and country of origin to a buyer before any binding commitment. Tightsteel has no veto over PTJ coverage and sees no editorial material before publication beyond normal fact-checking. When PTJ covers digital sourcing, marketplaces, or Tightsteel's own market, the coverage includes the evidence against the model as well as for it.

Succession MFG. Selected PTJ technology — including PTJ Labs tools — is developed by Succession MFG, a related software company. Its role is a credit line, not a subject of coverage.

Tubular Steel USA. Tubular Steel USA, a tube manufacturer, is a related party. It appears in PTJ's capability research under exactly the same labels, evidence rules, and verification process as every other company, and this relationship is disclosed inline wherever the company is discussed. Tightsteel does not name its partner mills publicly. PTJ discloses here, plainly, that those partner mills may include related parties: where a Tightsteel run would be produced by a related party, the buyer learns the mill's identity — and its relationship to this ecosystem — before being bound to anything.

Sponsored material. PTJ currently publishes no sponsored content. If that changes, sponsored material will be labeled at the top, visually distinct, and excluded from investigations, capability reports, and the claims ledger.

Supplier-submitted information. Capability information submitted by suppliers is labeled "supplier-submitted; PTJ-unverified" until it meets our verification rules. Verification changes the label, not the record.

Data from Tightsteel. If PTJ ever publishes analysis drawn from Tightsteel transaction data, it will be anonymized, aggregated above minimum thresholds, accompanied by a methodology note, and never used to disadvantage a named competitor.

Historical data. Historical production or property data, wherever published, does not guarantee current or future properties, availability, or performance, and is labeled accordingly.

Corrections. Public, inline, dated, and logged at /claims-ledger.

On "independence." PTJ does not describe itself as independent, because the word means too many things. We describe our method instead: labeled claims, published sources, dated verification, company right-of-reply, and standing public corrections. Judge us on whether we follow it.
